What a beautiful day today, I believe it hit 70. Suppose to be that way all week.
On Monday’s I go into town to work in the office. The best thing about my job is that I work from home three days a week and I go into the office for two. The two days is enough to satisfy my desire to be in Boston. It is a long day, leaving the house at 5:45 AM and not getting back until 6 PM or so. I take the commuter rail to North Station and walk the Rose Kennedy Greenway to the Fort Point area of Boston. Not bad, it’s about 1.7 miles and I absolutely love it.
While walking the greenway this morning I happen to glance over between a couple of buildings and saw that there was a tall ship docked at Fan Pier. Took this picture on the left of the view I had.
I decided to take a walk at lunchtime to check it out. This ship is a historic Norwegian ship called the Sørlandet. This is the oldest fully rigged ship in the world. This ship was built in 1927 and was used to train young people for the merchant marines.
It currently serves as a floating high school, teaching 50 juniors and seniors. The public is welcome to board this ship until the 12th of April. The ships visit is part of the ramp up to the much-anticipated return of the tall ships from June 17 to 22. These are the days that I love working in Boston!
